About Eiserne Kreuz

In the spring of 2025, we discussed why there was no English-language magazine devoted to the SS and the Waffen-SS. There are several such publications in French and German, but none in English. We put our heads together and decided to give it a try.

The major difference between the magazines published in France and Germany and Eiserne Kreuz is that those publications are sold commercially. As we have absolutely no budget for this magazine, we decided from the outset that it would be digital and free of charge.

Those of us behind Eiserne Kreuz are not afraid to write about all aspects of the SS and the Waffen-SS. We do not seek in any way to excuse the crimes committed by the SS, but neither are we afraid to address the subjects that many readers find compelling and that contribute to the continued interest in the SS—such as the Waffen-SS and its military operations.

Eiserne Kreuz is entirely non-political and takes no position for or against anything. Our sole aim is to present and explore the history of the SS and the Waffen-SS.

At present, Eiserne Kreuz has no fixed schedule for future issues. All of us involved are also working on other projects, which in many cases take priority. Nevertheless, our guiding principle remains: “as soon as possible.”

If you would like to write for Eiserne Kreuz, you are most welcome to contact us. The only requirement is that the subject matter concerns the SS, the Waffen-SS, or the police.
