During the spring of 2025, we spoke about why there wasn’t a magazine about the SS/Waffen-SS in English. We noted that several exist in French and a couple in German, but for those who do not master those languages, there was no alternative.
We then began discussing what such a magazine might look like and what it should contain. We decided fairly quickly that the magazine would absolutely not shy away from any of the areas concerning the SS or Waffen-SS. We also agreed that every issue should provide you, the reader, with a new insight or more in-depth information regarding the subject at hand.
Issue No. 1 was released in the spring of 2025, and we hoped to have the second issue out shortly thereafter. However, things got in the way, and for me personally, it was primarily my other projects that took up far too much of my time. But in the autumn of 2025, we got to work in earnest again, and in January 2026, Issue No. 2 was released. As I write this, the final touches are currently being put on Issue No. 3.
Another important point regarding ”Eiserne Kreuz” is that we decided from the very beginning that the magazine would be free of charge, it would be digital, and we would not have fixed publication dates. Of course, we have a goal for how often it should be released, but as mentioned previously, we have our own areas of research; if we were to decide, for example, to publish every or every other month, we would likely have to abandon our own research. So we stick to ”Next issue as soon as possible”
Prior to Issue No. 2, I decided that readers would have to sign up to receive the issue. This was done with some success, but for Issue No. 3, we have decided to move away from that model and will instead allow everyone to download upcoming issues directly from this page.
With that said, I hope you appreciate what we publish and that you continue to read the magazine.
